Dear Everyone,
First, I'd like to share a couple of jokes from one of the members in our ward...
No Russian jokes? Soviet... (like, 'so be it...')
Asian jokes are wong.
Hahaha, I just laugh every time I hear those...
Anyway, this week was pretty great. Unfortunately, Elder Rich got SUPER sick on Thursday. Like, he was puking his lungs out. Gross. But actually really funny. His upchuck hurls were just epic, I couldn't help but smile when I heard them. I wish I could have seen it... The problem is, we have district meeting on Thursdays, so we ran to the church and I raided the mother's lounge for some comfy furniture and set up a bed for him in the cultural hall where it's dark so he could keep resting. It was a fun day... for me. :)
Great news! My tie is clean! I didn't doubt it. I've had great luck with dry cleaning. In fact, I've had to have some ties dry cleaned that missionary friends have signed with sharpie, and they come back without the sharpie on them! Sentimentally devastating, but impressive nonetheless...
Well, JJ and Regina bonked our appointment last week, but they said we could come by again this week and that they'd be prepared, so that's still going alright. However, we haven't been in touch with Steven for over two weeks now, so I guess that's not happening anymore.
We've had a TON of luck finding new people to teach this week though, despite Elder Rich being out of commission for two days. In fact, yesterday we followed up with a spanish potential investigator and now we have a solid spanish investigator! Baltazar was visiting with the missionaries in Cookeville, TN and has "El Libro de Mormon" and has read some and loves it. I still have trouble expressing myself in Spanish sometimes, but I can communicate, so that's good for now. Now I have a reason to REALLY WORK on it. EXCITING!
Well, I missed the first 15 minutes of the devotional last night, but what I did catch was really great. Then today I found out the best of the musical performances were the ones I missed!!! I'm going to get them off of lds.org though. No worries. I loved that box that President Eyring made but I would've been super upset about that barometer. I love when President Monson shares that story about his primary teacher. I read it in his biography. So good...
OMGoodness, if you haven't seen mormon.org lately, go check it out. There's free MOTAB Christmas music and they do an AWESOME performance of "O Holy Night" (All my favorite Christmas songs are in minor keys I feel... I like dark music I guess).
Love
Elder Grabinger
